Fees and Terms of Use

The rules for the operation of the sports facilities of the Technical University of Crete aim to ensure the smooth functioning of the spaces in order to enhance quality and achieve the optimal service for all users.

Terms of Use

1. The use of basketball and volleyball courts is free and open to everyone.
2. The use of tennis and football courts is allowed only after prior electronic or telephone reservation.
3. All members of the Polytechnic community, as well as citizens not affiliated with the University, can access the electronic reservation system.
4. For members of the Polytechnic community, the use of the sports facilities is free of charge, and court reservations are made using their Technical University of Crete account.
5. For individuals not affiliated with the University, creating an electronic account is required, and use is allowed only after verification of the person responsible for the reservation.
   5.1. Tennis courts are charged per person and per usage time. If there is simultaneous use by members of the Polytechnic community and non-members, the fee applies only to the non-members.
   5.2. Football fields are charged per usage time for the entire field. If a reservation is made by at least six members of the academic community, no fee is charged. Football field reservations must include at least six (6) participants. Reservations with fewer participants are not accepted by the electronic system.
   5.3. Use of the facilities by teaching staff of sports academies, sports clubs, or individuals providing commercial lessons is prohibited. Violation of this rule results in indefinite exclusion from the sports facilities.
6. Electronic Reservation System
   6.1. Members of the Polytechnic community can reserve courts for the current day or the next 8 days.
   6.2. Non-affiliated users can reserve courts for the current day or the next 6 days.
7. Each user can use or reserve a court a maximum of once per day and three times per week. Users must indicate the participants, who may be members of the University (selected from the system) or non-members (added manually).
8. A court reservation can be canceled up to 2 hours before use, and participants can be added or removed until the last moment. Failure to appear without prior cancellation results in a 30-day suspension for the responsible user, during which they cannot make new reservations.

Fees

1. For members of the Polytechnic community, the use of sports facilities is free upon presentation of identification.
2. Children and adolescents under 18 must pay a symbolic fee of €1 each, which will be reinvested in the facilities for the benefit of the users.
3. Non-affiliated individuals are subject to the following fees:
   • €5 per person per training session (90 minutes) for a 5x5 football field reservation
   • €5 per person per training session (90 minutes) for a 3x3 football field reservation
   • €5 per person per training session (60 minutes) for a tennis court reservation, plus €2 for lighting
   • €2 per hour (60 minutes) for the training wall
4. Special cases, such as group reservations from schools, may be exempt from fees upon written request to the Court Management Committee.
5. Payment (if applicable) is made at the sports facilities’ administration office.
